Janice Berman

Over the past three decades, Ms. Berman held numerous regulatory, financial and operational positions at Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E).  She led PG&E’s strategy and grid innovation teams, focusing on emergent issues for the “utility of tomorrow” such as decarbonization, electrification, clean energy, and microgrids.  Previously, she oversaw PG&E’s customer products organization including energy efficiency, demand response, distributed generation, electric vehicles, and pricing. She has worked in most aspects of the utility business, including strategy, regulatory, rates, electric transmission, gas transmission, information technology, and customer care.  

Jan is a currently a Board Member of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).  She previously served on the Building Decarbonization Coalition’s Advisory Board, and the Boards of the New Buildings Institute (NBI), the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), and the California Electric Transportation Coalition (CalETC). 

Ms. Berman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Whitman College, a Master’s degree in Operations Research from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley.
