Robert Jackson

Robert Jackson is the Assistant Division Director of the Materials Management Division within the Michigan the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.  He directs the agency’s energy services and sustainability programs, and has oversight of the State Energy Office, VW Settlement, recycling, and recycled materials market development.  He is the point of contact for the U.S. Department of Energy’s State Energy Program for Michigan’s building energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean energy manufacturing programs.

Mr. Jackson is also the Energy Ombudsman for Michigan.  He is responsible for resolving public and private sector energy disputes with investment-own utilities, and monitors electric and gas utility companies compliance with the Michigan Public Service Commission’s code of conduct.

Mr. Jackson is the Past Chair of National Association of State Energy Officials (NAESO) and the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable and former Vice-chair of the U.S. DOE State Energy Advisory Board (STEAB).  Mr. Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University.
